Real Bride Customizes Her Dream A-line Wedding Dress

Now that we have your attention, we want to introduce to one of our “Very Important Bride’s”…
Meet Kait Gelbspan, our 2023 viral bride who turned her wedding dress vision into a reality through our one-of-a-kind customization process. Kait wanted to create a gown that would not only capture her personal style but also embody her unique love story. Her radiant spirit and passion for individuality led her to collaborate closely with our skilled stylists, translating her ideas into her very own custom gown. You could say our Fairy Gown-Mothers’ are the best in the industry ;)
Kait’s bespoke creation is more than just her wedding dress and the sentiment goes far beyond her wedding day. It’s a dress designed for her marriage, representing love, loyalty, and commitment – qualities that we believe are the foundation for a couple to “celebrated forever” together. Kait’s dress marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life. When she said “yes” to the dress, she committed to it wholeheartedly, foreshadowing the next and final “yes” in her wedding journey which holds the greatest weight of all!

It all started at our beautiful flagship store in Crystal Cove.
“When I walked in, I was immediately immersed into the bridal world. There were so many styles, colors, and options, I wasn't sure how I was going to pick,” said Kait. “As we started trying dresses on, I began to see exactly what I liked and what I envisioned for myself on my special day. The whole experience was easy, fun, surreal, and an absolute dream come true!”
Kait knew Casablanca Bridal would provide the experience and expertise she was looking for. Having lived in Irvine, California, Kait reminisced on the days she spent in the Crystal Cover shopping center. She said, “I had so much trust, excitement, and confidence going into the appointment.”
Kait’s appointment was about as dreamy as it gets! “It was like something out of a movie,” she said.
Kait tried on twelve gowns from all four brands, and with the help from Store Manager, Narjess, she began to picture her wedding day look. “We sipped champagne and played dress up - it was perfect!”
After trying on several styles, Kait realized there were elements of specific dresses she loved and if she could combine them into one gown then that would be “The One”! Kait said, “I tried on the sparkly Vail gown with a leg slit, but I wanted it to be a bit more bridal. Then I tried on a beautiful embroidered dress with tulle, but I wasn't in love with the nude underlining.”
This was when the magic happened! Narjess began layering the embroidery from the gown Kait liked, over the sparkly dress. Kait recalls this moment saying, “I was in LOVE”! The two began to add little details from other dresses that Kait liked including a corset lace-up back, leg slit on the left side, a modified neckline shape, and the length of the train. Narjess completed this bridal look with a matching veil and beautiful beaded sleeves draped off-the-shoulder.
Kait said, “Narjess understood my vision exactly and helped me bring it to life. I cried seeing myself in the dress, and I was able to imagine how I would feel walking down the aisle to start this beautiful journey with the love of my life.”
Kait wants to encourage other brides-to-be to go into their dress appointment with an open mind. She said that the shopping experience can be overwhelming, but she suggests going into it with the intention of “having a good time”. This mindset will leave room for you and your stylist to create a personal and collaborative experience. Kait also suggests trying on everything, whether you think it is your style or not! This will allow you to see how you feel in each dress and give you the opportunity to verbalize your likes and dislikes.
“Don't worry if you don't know what you like going into it [the appointment]. Your preferences and vision will come to you as you go throughout this journey,” said Kait. “This was honestly one of the best days I have ever had."
