The Miracle Bride: Cassie Frazee’s Journey to the Aisle in Her Dream Casablanca Bridal Gown
Weddings are a celebration of love, commitment, and the promise of a future together. But for Cassie Marie Frazee, her wedding day was also a testament to resilience, faith, and the miracles that can happen when love is at the center of it all. Her journey to the aisle was anything but ordinary, and at the heart of this journey was a stunning custom Casablanca Bridal gown that made her feel like a true princess on a day filled with both tears and joy.
Cassie’s dress shopping experience at Wedding Belles Bridal Boutique in Michigan was nothing short of magical. Having known Patty, the boutique owner, for years, Cassie trusted that she would be in good hands. “Shopping at Wedding Belles is always a great experience,” Cassie shared. “When I came in to try on wedding dresses, I must have tried on 25 dresses, but I kept coming back to the one I purchased. It made me feel like a complete princess.”
The dress that captured her heart was a stunning Casablanca Bridal gown. It was the second dress she tried on, and despite exploring numerous other options, none compared to this one. The gown fit her perfectly, with only a minor adjustment needed to the hollow-to-hem length. Cassie knew she had found “the one”!
Life, however, had other plans. Just months after ordering her dream dress, Cassie and her fiancé, Josh Frazee, received devastating news: Josh was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. The whirlwind of emotions that followed led them to make the difficult decision to move their wedding date up by four months. The challenge was not only the change in plans but also whether Cassie’s dream dress would arrive in time.
When Patty at Wedding Belles heard about Cassie’s situation, she took immediate action. She contacted Casablanca Bridal and shared Cassie and Josh’s story. In an incredible act of kindness, Casablanca Bridal expedited the production of the dress, ensuring it would arrive in time for the wedding. “It was such a wonderful thing that they did for me, I can’t even explain the gratitude I felt,” Cassie said, her voice filled with emotion.
Despite the rush and the overwhelming circumstances, Cassie and Josh’s wedding day on January 16, 2016, at the Weko Beach House in Bridgman, MI, was perfect in its own unique way. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the couple exchanged vows in a ceremony filled with love, hope, and raw emotion. “There was not a dry eye in the entire room during our ceremony,” Cassie recalled. “Everyone was crying due to the circumstances, and you could just feel the love in the room.”
Wearing her Casablanca Bridal gown, Cassie truly felt like a princess, even amidst the uncertainty. “I loved my dress so much! I had it preserved, and it hangs in my closet to this day. I hope one of my daughters will wear it when they grow up and get married,” she shared.
Today, Josh is cancer-free and has been in remission for almost eight years—a miracle that Cassie attributes to faith and the power of love. Reflecting on her journey, Cassie offers this advice to other brides: “Don’t stress about the wedding details. Just find the right person, the right dress, and have fun! Life is a gift, and you have to live every moment because you never know what the future will bring.”
Cassie’s story is a beautiful reminder that even in the darkest of times, love can light the way, and dreams—like wearing the perfect wedding gown—can come true, even against the odds. Photography credit here.
