Describe your experience of saying “yes” to the dress!
“I actually picked a different dress first, because it looked beautiful in person and I thought it was the dress that brides would look beautiful wearing. But then when I went home and looked at myself in the photos, the dress didn’t look like me, and what I envisioned my dream dress to look like. So I went back to I Do Wedding the next morning and begged to switch my dress out! I picked another dress with the flowy tulle bottom that I had always envisioned (I wanted to feel like an elven princess), and was so happy at how I felt on my wedding day.”

Tell us your love story!
“We met as undergraduates at the University of Pennsylvania. We were both in a community service fraternity called Alpha Phi Omega, and became friends through a mutual love of Pirates of the Caribbean, adventure and good literature.”

“When we were both single, we started dating immediately, graduated Penn, and then moved to New York City together. After a few years in NYC, Michael got accepted to a PhD program at MIT in Boston; he proposed on a sailboat in Barcelona the summer before we moved from NYC to Boston. We’d talked about getting engaged before moving, so I knew it was coming, but I Never imagined it would be on a boat in the middle of the ocean – engagement rings get lost that way!”
What’s your favorite thing about your husband?
“That we are best friends and perfectly complement each other as equals; life is easy with him. We easily laugh, debate, and make each other better.”

What is your favorite moment from your wedding?
“Our ceremony – our friend officiated the wedding and it was the most personal and moving ceremony I could have ever asked for. He coordinated a ‘secret exchange’ where we both individually sent him our favorite memories of each other, which was a wonderful surprise to hear about why we fell in love with each other.”

Do you have any advice to other brides?
“Stay organized, and do what’s important to you. While you can try to make all your guests happy, what’s most important is sharing your love for each other in an authentic way.”
