Lovely in Lace: A Lakeside Wedding in Michigan
When hosting a destination wedding at naturally breathtaking setting, such as Lake Macatawa in Michigan, sometimes the best styling to stick with is clean and simple. This #WeddingWednesday, we're celebrating love while sharing the effortlessly timeless wedding details of Casablanca Bride Paige's wedding.
Finding your perfect wedding dress sometimes is like finding your soul-mate. The moment may sometimes arrive with unnoticed subtlely that may be missed by the unsuspecting bride. As for Paige, she fell in love with the lovely, lacey Style 2228 Belladonna at first sight.
"It was actually the first dress I had tried on. I loved but wasnΓÇÖt sure because I didn't have the emotional reaction like most brides say they do, although this dress was the only one that got my mom teary-eyed!" Paige recalled.
And just like with love, sometimes Mom knows it's 'the one' before you ever do.
"After trying on countless other dresses, and even going to multiple other bridal shops, I concluded that I was still in love with that first dress I had tried on from the start." Following the instinct of her interest, Paige returned to the casually romantic fit-and-flare lace wedding gown.
"I was expecting a huge wave of emotion to hit me when finding 'the one,' but it never did -- I think that was my greatest source of hesitation! I absolutely loved my dress and am thankful I finally came to realize that not everyone will have the same clear, emotional answer!"
The bride gave the wedding gown an updated #CasablancaCustomized look by deepening the low-back by 2 inches and adding a delicately beaded belt to flatter the natural waistline with a touch of sparkle.
Paige and Michael maintained a long distance relationship for 2 and a half years out of the 3 years they dated before marriage.
"This situation made our relationship unique in that we had to find special ways to show each other love." Still smitten, the couple chose to look at circumstances as an opportunity to practice romance and optimism, naturally building up a relationship established by unconditional commitment.
"The long distance ended up being so beneficial to our relationship and now our marriage because we were forced to find more intentional ways to show each other our love. Our experience of a long distance relationship was so tough but has made us so unbelievably thankful to get to spend every single day together now that weΓÇÖre married!"
With a love this faithful, it's easy to see that the couple was meant to be.
The bride chose beige for the color of her bridesmaids' dresses. She matched the classic look with soft blush pink wedding bouquets. Her wedding cake and table setting matched the elegant, minimalistic feel with the combination of green leafy garlands with a dash of rosy detail.
The romantic simplicity in the wedding reception's styling was a perfect feel to go with the natural beauty of the set location: Lake Macatawa in Michigan.
"One of my most favorite parts of the day was having the chance to do a first look with not only my husband but also with my dad! It was like 'the calm before the storm' (in a good way, of course). I was able to make such a special moment out of the day with my dad and husband, get my emotions out, and allow the most important men in my life to see me before the rest of my family and friends did!"
Paige's wedding advice to future brides: "Make a conscious effort to absorb everything thatΓÇÖs going on. My wedding day was so busy, it was easy to get lost in the chaos! Take time to detach yourself and just observe and take in the beauty of the day and/or night."
