A Winter Wedding at a Castle in Scotland

Real Bride Madison Fendley started the year off with a beautiful new chapter in her life. She said “I do” on January 5, 2024 to the love of her life, Jordan Harvey at the gorgeous Dalhousie Castle in his hometown in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was the fairytale, winter wedding of her dreams!
Jordan and Madison met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in Nashville, TN. After her first conversation with Jordan, she knew he was going to be her very best friend. Jordan said the moment he saw her carrying a red velvet cake into the party, he also knew they would be together forever.
The months leading up to her big day were filled with exciting wedding festivities, our favorite of which includes saying “yes” to the dress!
“To be honest, my dress shopping experience was so quick and easy. I had no idea of what type of dress I wanted and had no expectations of finding a dress on the first day at the first store I went to,” said Madison who booked an appointment at Formally Yours Boutique in Dothan, Alabama.
She brought her mother and grandmother with her, hoping to get an idea of the styles and designers she liked. Sometimes it can be best to have no expectations because your chances of exceeding them are higher! In Madison’s case, she only tried on 8 wedding gowns and she ended up saying “yes” that day.
“I had not researched, looked at, or tried on any wedding dresses prior to shopping for mine, so I had no idea of any wedding dress designers,” said Madison. “When I was trying on dresses, my two favorites were both from Casablanca Bridal, so that’s when I discovered that this was the wedding designer for me!”
After finding the bridal look she wanted, Madison decided to infuse her personal touch into her wedding gown! She made several customizations to her dress to ensure that it was exactly what she had envisioned for herself on her wedding day.
“The dress that I fell in love with had spaghetti straps, but my wedding was in January in Scotland, so I knew I wanted sleeves for a wintery wedding look.” Pam, the owner of Formally Yours, told Madison that they often work with Casablanca and that they could do whatever customizations I wanted.
“I was already in love with the dress, but the customizations were what sold me! We removed the spaghetti straps, designed custom, removable sleeves, changed the color of the underskirt, and customized the train,” she said.
Madison said she was so shocked when she “yes” to the dress! It was unexpected because the process seemed too easy, but she was so excited. “I could visualize the dress in my head but couldn’t wait to be able to physically see what it would look like. About a week later, I received the sketch from Casablanca of my custom dress, and I knew that the dress was going to be perfect.”
About 6 months later, Madison finally got to try on her custom gown, and it was even more beautiful than she could have imagined.
“The one piece of advice that I would give other brides shopping for their dream dress is to be completely open minded! Try on as many different styles as you can - you might be surprised what you end up loving. I would 100% recommend Casablanca Bridal to any future bride. On the morning of her wedding, Madison was getting ready with her mom and sister. She felt so much excitement and an overwhelming sense of peace. During the ceremony and the reception, she was filled with joy and happiness. She said, “it was truly the best day of our lives!”
Madison said her husband absolutely loved her wedding dress! “We did not do a first look, so as soon as he saw me walking down the aisle, he started crying. It was so sweet and special- a moment I will never forget!”
Madison’s winter wonderland wedding was featured in People Magazine highlighting all the beautiful details of the grand event. These images speak for themselves!
