When Love Takes Flight: An Aviation Themed Wedding

Happy Wedding Wednesday from Casablanca Bridal! Today, true love takes flight at the Virginia Beach Military Aviation Museum.. This story is all about planes and propellers as Casablanca Bride Kirsten shares adorable details from her adventurous aviation wedding theme!
A classic and romantic choice, Style 2163 creates a timeless mermaid silhouette with patterns of non-beaded embroidered lace appliques that trail down into a scalloped train. The scalloped neckline matches the train with a demure detail of eyelash fringing for an organic feel.

This gown's dreamy combination of lace and tulle creates a light, layered look that is both comfortable and approachable.

The couple's meet-cute moment was too perfect to not believe in perfect-timing and fate: "If ever I believed in luck, meeting Drew was it. I met him the day he moved to Virginia Beach. Being a lifelong resident in the presence of the cute new guy in town, I offered to show him around town. Our first date lasted 5 or 6 hours, and I knew that it was something special. We saw each other again the following day, and were inseparable ever since."

Kristen and Drew exchanged their vows under the fantastic view of historical military planes at the Virginia Beach Aviation Museum.

The nostalgic combination of old propellors and bright colors is just one of the many cute and clever aviation wedding themes that Kirsten incorporated into her special day.

Kirsten also passed along coasters as wedding favors, designed with her own personalized emblem in the style of an airman patch -- a perfect touch for aviation themed wedding favors! Centerpieces also featured petite planes with propellers, matching the whimsical design of Kirsten's airplane wedding cake.

The bride's favorite moment was the exchanging of the wedding vows: "It was so meaningful to make such important promises to my husband in front of all of our friends and family."

Kirsten's wedding ceremony was a spectacular sight, complete with a bright yellow Stearman PT-17 Kaydet trainer plane as the backdrop. Shortly after earning her wifey wings, Kirsten took her first steps as Mrs. Kampa with military-men at attention with ceremoniously raised sabers.

The pomp and circumstance doesn't stop there. The reception was held within an actual historical hanger, where more vintage planes and vehicles preserved from the WWI and WWII eras were readily available for admiration throughout the evening.
