A Whimsical Boho San Diego Wedding
Happy Wedding Wednesday from Casablanca Bridal! Today, we feature one of our #CasablancaBride real weddings -- that of Callie and Paul Ahern, who tied the knot at The Pearl Hotel in San Diego, California on April 23rd, 2016. If you are looking to be inspired by a unique love story, and a whimsical bohemian aesthetic, look no further than the visuals and words below.
In today's digital age, it is becoming more and more common for couples to meet on dating apps -- which is exactly how Callie and Paul first connected. Callie was new to California, looking to meet friends, whereas Paul was a San Diego native. The connection was instant, and both knew before they even met up that there was something different about each other. This led to a first date where the conversation flowed incredibly easily. That night, Callie went home and emailed her mother: "Mom, this sounds crazy but I think I just met the man I'm going to marry!"
Callie was not wrong! A year and a half later, she found herself shopping for a wedding dress. Intending to shop for a veil, Callie visited our retail location Clarice's Bridal in Missouri. She had already purchased a dress online, but was open to the idea of a second dress that would be different and unique. She tells us, "the first dress they brought out was Casablanca Bridal 2170. It had blush undertones, was jewel encrusted, had a gorgeous V-back and was lace and dotted tulle. It was the most unique dress I had ever seen. Needless to say, I tried it on, and everyone including myself had that 'bride moment' (something I didn't have with the original online dress I had purchased!)! It was then I knew I found THE dress and it would be the ONLY one I would be wearing.
The couple fondly thinks of each other as Wolf and Moon, and their nicknames were incorporated into their whimsical bohemian wedding. Along with these themed details, the wedding featured gorgeous florals in saturated hues of magentas, ombre touches and ribbons. Here's a full list of the vendors involved.
