Winter Wonderland Weddings

Introducing our new #ThemeItUpThursday, Casablanca Bridal is taking a deeper look into trending wedding themes and ideas to help future brides in planning the wedding of their dreams! This week, we take a look at #WinterWeddings!

When it comes to planning a wedding, choosing a date in the winter may not be the first choice. Still, many brides see the season as an opportunity to add some extra love and magic to the holidays. Take #CasablancaBride Lauren, for instance, who married in December of 2016. Getting married in the winter wasn't her first choice, but as she decided to embrace the change of plans, she found that picking the colors and details of her special day was even easier than expected!
Since wedding plans adjusted to take place in December, Lauren envisioned herself in a long sleeve gown, and from there, her imagination and creativity took flight with the possibility of going #CasablancaCustomized.

Lauren combined the sleeves from Style #2169 with the look of Style #1918 and added a finishing touch of including the keyhole back of Style #2195 to create the dress of her dreams. Even though her wedding day had gone through unexpected changes, the moment Lauren saw her the finished product of her customized creation, she knew she would feel what every bride dreams of for her wedding day-- she would feel like the most special and beautiful girl in her way and style!

Long sleeve gowns are a popular choice for fall and winter weddings. Style #2279 Fuchsia, for example, gives the bride a look of a winter royalty with flamenco-inspired layers of ruffle that mimic the fluff of frosty snow. The gown is topped off with beautiful floral lace sleeves to add balance and a touch of sophistication.

Another popular winter bride look is to go rustic and add some fur like #realbride Brittany did with Style #2163! The color palette of her wedding day included white with a dramatic accent of dark royal purple that added the perfect amount of pop! Her bridesmaids donned the gorgeous color as well, creating a beautiful contrast when standing alongside the bride.

When planning your wedding, don't limit yourself by generic theme terms and labels. Some brides may find themselves cringing at a broad brushstroke idea without realizing the amount of freedom she has in the finer details of her special day. The venue, florals, and table settings are all additional pieces to the puzzle that help strengthen the theme and feel of your wedding.
While Brittany decided to go for a rustic, vintage-inspired feel, Lauren chose to add some whimsy to her wedding! The bright reds and pinecones in her florals perfectly compliment the glitzy gold dresses worn by her bridesmaids. Additionally, while it may be cold outside, the hanging stringed bulbs add the same amount of dreamy effect to indoor venues.

Like both Brittany and Lauren, adding neutral tones to your color scheme is a perfectly subtle way to maintain a winter feel for your wedding. While you're playing with different tones of brown and beige, it's easy to match nearly any color to create a more thematic look.

Still, it's easy to get carried away with our imagination, only to get lost in all of our creative ideas. Fortunately, Casablanca Bridal has several boards on Pinterest to help brides get inspired.
